It took six years to achieve these 146 portraits of tattooers and tattoos.

Bodybuilders, bouncers at clubs, stripteasers, bikers…They all had faith in lending themselves to this game of truth. In black & white or colour, all these photos have been taken with Polaroid and Anological cameras, formats of authenticity.

Julien Lachaussée was born in 1976 in Paris, and is a freelance photographer. After his studies in photography,he spent 5 years as a photography assistant and has already had several exhibitions of his work (galerie Agnès B, Fnac, Tattoo Art Festival…). He has notably collaborated with magazines Sang bleu, Inked, Gustav mag, Rugged, Clark magazine, Désillusion, Maelström. In 2010, he gained 3rd place in the Fnac Nikon competition.
